NFC stickers come in various sizes, from micro NFC to medium and large. The chip is embedded within the card body. At Pure Metal Cards we offer a range of NFC chips to add to your cards.
An NFC (Near-Field Communication) sticker with a small chip is called a micro NFC sticker or miniaturized NFC tag. Tapping a metal NFC business card makes it really easy for your cardholder or client to learn more about what you offer. They are often used as triggers within another product, like activating another app on your phone or unlocking special features when scanned at the right moment. An NFC sticker with a medium-sized chip is called an IC tag or medium-sized NFC tag. Medium-sized chips have more memory than micro-chips, but less than large chips. Unlike micro tags, these are often placed discretely within products instead of being obvious triggers for something else.
For our NFC sticker metal cards we use a card thickness of 0.8mm/0.03″. The card needs to be this thickness (the same as a credit card) to be able to hold the chip within the card body. Details about the various chips we offer can be found here.
What is the Size of an NFC Sticker?
An NFC sticker is a printed label with embedded NFC that you can attach to almost any physical surface. The size of an NFC sticker depends on the chip size contained inside it—so the larger the chip, the bigger the sticker must be. NFC stickers are available in different sizes. At Pure Metal Cards our smallest sticker is 25mm x 25mm (0.98” x 0.98”). The smaller the chip, the harder it will be to scan and read as the antenna is smaller. We offer three sticker sizes as shown below:-
What is the Size of a Medium-Sized NFC Sticker?
A medium-sized NFC sticker has a chip inside of 30mm x 30mm (1.18” x 1.18”). Medium-sized NFC stickers are often used as product identifiers, as they can store more information than micro tags while being less obtrusive than large tags.
What is the Size of a Large NFC Sticker?
A large NFC sticker has a chip inside of 35mm x 35mm (1.38” x 1.38”). The larger the NFC sticker, the easier it will be to scan and read.
How to Find Out the Size of an NFC Sticker?
If you want to find out the size of an NFC sticker, you can use a ruler to measure its dimensions. Alternatively, you can use a smartphone app to detect the sticker type, which will show its dimensions as well.
